What Is It?

The Magic Quadrants Insight Tool helps you visualize and analyze your account’s performance through an interactive quadrant chart. Whether you're exploring keywords, ads, campaigns, or other data dimensions, this tool transforms complex performance metrics into easily understandable visual patterns.

With customizable axes and quadrant labels, you can quickly identify areas of opportunity and growth, allowing you to make informed decisions and optimize your campaigns effectively.

Where to Find It in the Optmyzr Tool?

Navigate to 'Audits & Insights' from the tool's left-side menu, and you'll see 'Magic Quadrants' in the list.

Why Use It?

With the Magic Quadrants Insight Tool, you can:

  1. Quickly visualize large sets of performance data and identify which campaigns, keywords, ads, or queries are performing well and which ones require attention.

  2. Identify high-performing entities and growth opportunities by analyzing how different metrics interact, helping you prioritize where to scale or optimize.

  3. Spot underperforming areas more easily by grouping entities into clear performance quadrants instead of manually reviewing multiple reports.

  4. Save time during account analysis by turning complex performance metrics into a simple visual framework that helps you make faster optimization decisions.

Setting up Your Quadrant Chart

  1. Choose a Data Scope:

Select the scope you want to analyze, such as campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, or search queries.

  2. Customize Axes:

Choose from pre-configured metric combinations for the X and Y axes, or select the 'Custom' option to choose the metrics according to your analysis needs.

  3. Toggle Labels:

Enable or disable labels to display data points directly on the chart.

Interpreting the Insights

The chart is divided into four quadrants:

  • Stars: High performance on both metrics.

  • Potentials: High performance on one metric, with room to improve on the other.

  • Opportunities: Underperforming on one metric but showing potential for growth.

  • Laggards: Low performance on both metrics; may require significant adjustments.

View all entities in a specific quadrant by using the quadrant details view below the chart. You can also hover over any data point to see detailed performance metrics.

Currently, the Magic Quadrants Insight Tool is limited to analyzing the top 100 entities (ranked by cost) within the selected scope.

Additional Features

  1. View and edit details of data points directly from the tool:

    • Click on data points to view in-depth insights for each of them.

    • You can also edit details of data points under Campaigns and Ad Group scopes, directly from the tool’s side tray editor.

  2. Filters and customization:

    • Apply filters to narrow down data by campaigns, date ranges, networks, or devices.

  3. Platform compatibility:

    • The tool supports analysis across all major advertising platforms like Google, Microsoft Ads, Amazon, and Meta.

By leveraging the Magic Quadrants Insight Tool, you can turn raw performance data into actionable strategies, helping you drive meaningful improvements in your advertising campaigns.

Use Cases

  1. Prioritize Campaigns That Deserve Additional Budget

Problem: When managing multiple campaigns, it can be difficult to quickly identify which campaigns are truly performing well and deserve additional investment.

Solution: In the tool, select Conversions and Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) as your axes when analyzing campaigns.

Campaigns located in the Stars quadrant deliver strong performance across both metrics. These campaigns represent your most efficient investments and can be prioritized for budget increases or scaling strategies.

  2. Detect Search Queries That Should Become Keywords

Problem: Search query reports often contain valuable opportunities, but reviewing them manually can make it difficult to identify queries that consistently perform well and deserve promotion to keywords.

Solution: The tool analyzes Search Queries by mapping Conversions against Cost per Conversion.

Queries that appear in the Opportunities quadrant show promising performance with room for improvement. These queries can be added as exact or phrase match keywords to gain better control over bidding and messaging.
