What happens if I exceed the spend limits in my subscription plan?
We understand that there may be some fluctuation in spend and accounts linked to Optmyzr from one month to the next. We take care of this with a 15-20% buffer built into the plan limits. This buffer takes care of small fluctuations in spend.
But, if your Optmyzr account consistently exceeds the levels of your subscription plan (despite the buffer), you can choose to upgrade to a higher plan or pay for the overages every month.
If you think you need to switch plans, you can contact us at support@optmyzr.com, and we will recommend a subscription plan that aligns with the growth goals for your business.
How do ad spend overages work?
If your monthly ad spend goes over the limit included in your plan, tiered overage charges will apply. These are calculated per additional $1,000 of ad spend, and the rates depend on how far above your limit you go.
Each Optmyzr plan includes:
A spend limit (included in your subscription)
An Overage Rate 1 for the spend above that limit, up to a threshold. You pay this rate for the portion between your plan’s limit and the threshold.
An Overage Rate 2 for spend beyond the threshold, and you pay this rate only for the amount that exceeds the threshold.
Breakdown of the tiered overage charges for each plan:
Plan | Spend Limit | Overage Rate 1 (up to threshold) | Threshold | Overage Rate 2 (after threshold) |
25K | $25,000 | $3.50 per $1K | $100,000 | $1.60 per $1K |
50K | $50,000 | $3.00 per $1K | $100,000 | $1.60 per $1K |
75K | $75,000 | $1.60 per $1K | $1,000,000 | $1.00 per $1K |
150K | $150,000 | $1.60 per $1K | $1,000,000 | $1.00 per $1K |
250K | $250,000 | $1.49 per $1K | $1,000,000 | $1.00 per $1K |
350K | $350,000 | $1.49 per $1K | $1,000,000 | $1.00 per $1K |
500K | $500,000 | $1.49 per $1K | $1,000,000 | $1.00 per $1K |
Here's an example of how overages will be calculated if you're on the 25K Plan and spend $120,000 in a month.
The first $25,000 is covered in your plan, so no extra charge.
The next $75,000 (from $25K to $100K) is charged at $3.50 per $1,000, which comes to $262.50.
The final $20,000 (anything above $100K) is charged at $1.60 per $1,000, adding $32.00.
So, your total overage charge will amount to $294.50.
Please note that rates are numerically the same in AUD and EUR.
What else should I know about overages?
First-month flexibility: If you're a new customer, we’ll automatically waive any overage charges in your first month and let you know by email.
No disruptions during spikes: If your ad spend temporarily goes over your plan limit, we’ll keep everything running smoothly and just apply the extra charges as needed. No interruptions.
Automatic upgrade after 2 months: If your spend stays over the limit for two months in a row, and you're paying more in overages than the next plan costs, we’ll automatically upgrade you. You’ll get a heads-up email 7 days before the change.
Billing adjustments:
If you’re on a monthly plan, the upgrade starts in your next billing cycle.
If you’re on a 6-month or annual plan, we’ll prorate the upgrade charge for the remaining period.
How are additional ad accounts charged?
Essentials users are limited to 25 ad accounts. If you go over this, you’ll be charged $5 per additional account per month.
If these overages exceed the cost of moving to a Premium plan, we’ll automatically upgrade you to ensure better value. You’ll get a heads-up email 7 days before the change.
The Premium plan allows you to add unlimited* ad accounts.
