With the Shopping Campaign Management tool for Microsoft Ads, you can manage and refresh existing Shopping and PMax campaigns from a single workflow. The tool helps ensure your campaigns stay aligned with your merchant feed and allows you to update asset group and product group structures without rebuilding campaigns.

Note: The Shopping Campaign Management tool will replace the legacy Shopping Builder and Shopping Refresher tools for Microsoft Ads.

Getting Started

Shopping Campaign Management for Microsoft Ads currently supports the management and refresh of existing Microsoft Shopping and PMax campaigns only. Creating new Shopping or PMax campaigns using this tool is not yet supported.

To get started, open Shopping Campaign Management and select a Microsoft Ads account with existing Shopping or PMax campaigns.

You can:

  1. View key performance metrics for campaigns

  2. Review campaign structure and settings

  3. Manage asset groups

  4. Refresh existing Shopping campaigns using the latest merchant feed data

View Key Performance Metrics and Campaigns

You can view the full list of your Microsoft Shopping campaigns and their performance metrics.

Review Campaign Structure and Settings

Click the gear icon next to the Campaign name to view and edit its settings.

Manage Asset Groups

You have the flexibility to create and add new asset groups to your campaigns or replace all existing asset groups with a fresh structure based on your specific needs.

To edit the structure of a campaign, click on the 'Select Campaign Structure' button present on the settings page of the campaign.

Restructuring the campaign gives you two options to choose from: either create new asset groups or modify the existing ones.

  1. You can choose to create single or multiple asset groups with the 'Create New Asset Groups' option selected. Choose your desired Asset Group and Listing Group hierarchy and click on 'Save' to proceed.

  2. Choosing to modify your existing asset groups will allow you to choose an Asset Group to work with and to classify your Listing Group hierarchy further.

Refresh Campaigns Using Merchant Feed Data

The Shopping Campaign Management tool also helps keep Google Ads Shopping and Performance Max campaigns in sync with the merchant feed. It can run on all asset groups in the campaign together, which makes it much more efficient to use when you have many asset groups.

Choosing to sync your campaigns/campaign groups with Merchant Feed using the tool will:

  • Update your already existing asset groups and listing groups

  • Create new asset groups in accordance with the structure and feed changes.

The tool will suggest removals for products that are no longer present in the feed and additions for those that have been recently added.

We suggest refreshing your campaigns every week. This can be done manually through this option or automatically by using Automatic Sync Schedules.

Select "Set Up Automation" to open the 'Create Schedule' side tray, where you can:

  1. Run Automation

  2. Apply Additions

  3. Apply Removals

  4. Create New Asset Groups

  5. Set Default New Ad Group Bid

You can also set the frequency. The days and time slot for the automation to run. Additionally, you can add team members to send error notifications in case the automation does not run.
