About the Alert Settings Page
The Alert Settings allow you to create and edit either metric or budget pacing alerts for your portfolios, accounts, and campaigns. You can access this page from the Insights menu or using the Settings option () present in the Triggered Alerts side tray.
Read more about where to view your created alerts once they get triggered.
Creating Alerts
Click on the 'Create New Alert' dropdown to choose from two options, both available to help you track varying aspects of your account:
Single Metric Alert
Monitor Budget Pacing
Monitor Your Key Performance Metrics
The Single Metric Alert option allows you to create alerts to track the performance of important metrics and get notified when a significant deviation is detected in contrast to the target.
When creating these alerts, you will need to select a portfolio first. You'll be able to select multiple portfolios at once as well.
After selecting the portfolio, you'll need to specify the level you'd like to create the alert.
Metric Alerts can be created at different levels such as portfolio, account(s), and even campaign(s). Metrics and scopes may vary depending on the platform and level at which the alert is being created.
Once you've selected the level, you can proceed with the metric selection. After this, you'll have the option to use either the Automatic or Manual settings for the target.
If you don't have a specific target in mind, this mode automatically calculates the average of the last 8 weeks' data. Using this average, it estimates a target for the previous 4 weeks.
If you choose the manual mode, then the value you enter should be your expected target based on the last 4 weeks.
The Advanced Settings section allows you to specify the allowed deviation %, whether you'd like to ignore data from recent days (and how many days, if so.)
When setting up a metric alert at any level, you can define an offset of days for ignoring data. This offset pushes back the data by the specified number of days, which can be beneficial for accommodating conversion delays. Typically, we suggest setting an offset between 1 to 14 days to account for such delays.
Metric Alerts for Multiple Portfolios, Accounts and Campaigns
If you're interested in setting up the same Single Metric Alert across multiple portfolios, you can do so in bulk by selecting the desired portfolios in the portfolio selector menu.
This will create the same alert across all selected portfolios. As these are Single Metric Alerts, the system will look at performance data for each portfolio individually, and it won't aggregate data across the portfolios. Since Portfolios include a set of accounts, the system calculates the average of KPIs across accounts to establish the target for portfolio-level alerts.
Similarly, if you create an alert for multiple accounts and campaigns (selecting 'Account' or 'Campaign' as the level), you will be alerted individually for each selected account (or campaign) when the conditions are met.
This implies that regardless of the level at which you create your alerts—be it 'Campaign' or 'Account'—you will receive alerts for each selected constituent.
Monitor Your Monthly Budget Pacing
Using the Monitor Budget Pacing option, create alerts to track the pacing of your monthly budget. Get notified whenever your account is under or overspending.
Select your preferred portfolio and set the target monthly budget. Choose your budget cycle date, people to be notified and your budget pacing alert is good to be saved.
Filtering Alerts
You'll be able to filter alerts based on portfolios or specific accounts, types of alerts (metric or budget pacing), and alert levels.
Editing Alerts
You can modify the settings of a particular alert by clicking the edit button in the action menu.
Deleting Alerts
You can remove alerts through the delete button in the action menu. You can also select multiple alerts at once to delete them in bulk.
