Optmyzr's Slack integration lets you stay on top of your accounts without leaving Slack. You can receive alerts and scheduled reports, and interact with Sidekick — Optmyzr's AI assistant — directly from your Slack workspace.
Note: Sidekick is powered by AI, and it uses OpenAI's ChatGPT to generate responses, which may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify important data in Optmyzr or your ad platform before acting on it.
Receiving Alerts in Slack
You can receive the alerts generated for your accounts directly in Slack. To get started, give Optmyzr permission here. This integration is set up at the user level, and alerts are sent to individual users in Slack.
You will receive the same alerts on Slack that you were receiving in your email. We support alerts on Slack for all current platforms (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Facebook Ads & Amazon Ads).
Note: You can only give or revoke permission for your own Slack account.
Alerts will be triggered anytime during the day, and all metric alerts associated with a specific account will get triggered together. Accounts with the same time zone will get triggered with a few minutes difference.
Note: You will be notified of anomaly alerts on Slack.
It is not possible to change the frequency or to filter by severity or alert type. If you edit any alert for a specific account, alerts will be updated and re-triggered immediately on Slack as well. Clicking the "View" button on Slack will redirect you to the Alerts Triggered page.
Note: The Optmyzr App is listed on the Slack Marketplace.
You will be notified automatically as soon as an alert is triggered. You will receive notifications only if your name appears in the email notification column, if you are the owner of the account defined on the MCC Dashboard, or if you have the account "starred" as a favorite. You can edit these settings on the Alert Management page.
Once your Slack account is connected successfully with Optmyzr, you will receive a confirmation message in Slack.
Using Sidekick in Slack
Along with alerts and reports, the Slack integration also lets you interact with Sidekick, Optmyzr's AI assistant, directly within your Slack workspace. There are three ways to do this.
Slash Commands
You can ask Sidekick questions using the slash command from anywhere in your Slack workspace:
/optmyzr Show me campaign performance for last 30 days
The response appears directly in the same channel, group, or DM where the command was used.
For follow-up questions, use the slash command again with your next prompt:
/optmyzr Compare it with previous month
The system maintains conversational context across follow-up prompts.
To start a completely new conversation within the same channel, use the new keyword. For example:
/optmyzr new Show performance for another account
Mentions in Channels
You can also interact with Sidekick by mentioning the Optmyzr bot in any channel or group conversation. To use this:
Add the Optmyzr bot to the channel.
Mention the bot along with your question. For example:
@Optmyzr What caused the drop in conversions yesterday?
The bot will reply inside a Slack thread attached to that message. Once the thread is created, you can continue asking questions directly inside the thread, without mentioning @Optmyzr again. For example:
Can you compare this with last week?
Sidekick automatically maintains conversation context within the thread. You can still tag teammates inside the thread normally, and messages intended only for teammates will not trigger a bot response.
Direct Messages (DMs)
You can also chat with the Optmyzr bot directly through Slack DMs. Inside the bot DM, no slash command or mention is required — just type your question naturally, and Sidekick will respond automatically.
Additionally, you can type /optmyzr help and get details of how to use the Sidekick integration right inside Slack.
Uninstalling the Slack Integration
The Slack integration can be removed in two ways.
From the Optmyzr Slack Management Page
From the Optmyzr Slack management settings, you can revoke tokens, disconnect the Slack workspace, or remove the integration entirely.
From the Slack Workspace
Workspace admins can also uninstall the Optmyzr app directly from Slack. To uninstall, follow these steps:
Open the Slack workspace settings.
Go to installed apps.
Select the Optmyzr app.
Uninstall the app.
Once uninstalled, associated tokens are automatically revoked.
Deleting Your Data from Sidekick
You can remove your data in two ways:
• Disconnect Sidekick — remove the integration from the Slack Management page in Optmyzr, or from Slack under Settings → Manage apps. This immediately stops Sidekick from processing any further data from your workspace.
• Delete your account or request deletion — if you delete your Optmyzr account, all of your account information is deleted after 30 days. You can also request deletion at any time by contacting us through our officially published support channels.
