What is it?

The Optimization Side Tray is a compact option to oversee, edit, and optimize multiple aspects of your account down to the keyword level. It can be used to quickly change account settings or even apply Optmyzr Express Suggestions.

Support for different Platforms

  • Google Ads accounts: The side tray offers 4 tabs - Account Overview, Account Settings, Campaigns, and Express Suggestions.

  • Microsoft, Amazon, and Yahoo Japan Ads accounts: The side tray supports 2 tabs - Account Settings, and Express Suggestions.

  • Amazon Ads accounts: You will find only 1 tab - Account Settings.

Accessing the Side Tray

There are various ways to access the side tray spread throughout Optmyzr. They are listed below:

To access the Side Tray on the All Accounts Dashboard, click the 'Edit Account Details' option under the three-dot menu at the end of each row (account). Alternatively, you can also click on the 'Suggestions' column for any of your accounts.

Accounts Dashboard

The 'Settings' button on the Account Dashboard for any account will open the Side Tray on the Account Settings Tab.

Other

You can access the Campaigns tab (only Google Ads) of the Side Tray from various locations throughout Optmyzr such as Rule Engine Suggestions or PPC Account Audits.

Any Rule Engine Strategy that displays a campaign or an Ad group name in the suggestions generated will have the aforementioned name as a clickable button that will open the Side Tray allowing you to review or even edit that campaign/ad group quickly.

Similarly for an Account Audit, a few components have clickable Campaigns and Ad Group names.

Account Overview

The Side Tray allows you to view a condensed and detailed overview of a particular account. The account overview tab lists multiple widgets that provide you with key information and optimization opportunities for any Google Ads account.

Here is the list of all the widgets available for the Account Overview tab-

  • Performance Metrics -
The Performance Metrics widget gives you a quick overview of your account's performance by displaying the various KPIs and corresponding data for the last 30 days.

Account Settings

You can edit information for a particular account directly from the Side Tray using the Account Settings tab. The following information can be set up when changing the account settings:

Account Info

  • Name of the account,

  • The team member in charge of managing the account,

  • Custom tags/labels, and Notes -

Add tags and notes to your accounts to organize and analyze them. The search box at the top of the dashboard makes it possible to filter data by tags that have been assigned to accounts. Tags help group similar accounts together.

For example, if you're managing accounts for different verticals you can tag them as legal, auto, e-commerce, etc., and then analyze the data for those accounts together.

The Notes field can be used to specify what needs to be known at the account level. For example, the Target CPA is $50 or, doesn't increase bids above $5.

Account Budget Info

The Monthly Budget needs to be added manually and will work based on the Cycle Date defined.

The dashboard lets you monitor monthly budgets from the beginning to the end of the month. For some accounts, you may follow a different monthly cycle that doesn't start on the 1st. To specify custom monthly cycles you can use the cycle date field.

For example, if the month for an account starts and ends on the 15th, the cycle date will be 15.

The Cycle Date can take any value from 1 to 30. By default, it is set to 1.

Additional Conversion Columns

This will allow you to include specific custom conversions from the Google Ads account, and GA4, as well as integrate data from your SA360 such as actions, action groups, and saved columns. Once custom conversion columns are enabled, the selected conversions will become available across Optmyzr tools.

Google Ads Custom Conversions

Under ‘Google Custom Conversions’ you’ll find a dropdown including a list of custom conversions set up in the account. You can check the box of the different conversions you’d like to be reported on. You can select up to 5 custom conversions.

If you wish to select more than 5 conversions, contact support@optmyzr.com

Campaigns

The Campaigns tab lists all the campaigns currently active in your Google Ads accounts along with their respective KPIs such as clicks, impressions, cost, etc.

For a more detailed view and editing options for a specific campaign, you can click on the campaign name. This will allow you to navigate further down the hierarchy to edit the properties of the campaign itself and view its Ad Groups, Search Terms, Ads, Keywords, and more.

Edit the name, status, networks, budget, bidding strategy, and Labels using the Campaigns Settings menu.

Ad Groups

Similarly to the Campaigns Tab, the Ad Groups section lists all the Ad Groups in your campaign along with the type, clicks, cost, and conversions. Clicking on an ad group will show you these options:

Adgroup Settings

Edit Ad Group Name, Status, Bidding Strategy, Ad Rotation and Labels

Search Terms

Get a list of all search terms and have the ability to include or exclude them with just one click. Use the 'Show Search Terms with Low Impressions' to view search terms that have less than 4 impressions.

Keywords

Get a list of all the keywords in the ad group along with important metrics. The 'Status' column allows you to either Enable, Pause, or Remove Keywords with ease. You can also add new keywords using the 'Create Keywords' button on the left.

Opting to create new keywords triggers a new window, prompting you to input the keywords, their match types, and the Final URL. This window also presents existing ads, Top Ad Group Keywords, and search queries, along with their respective KPIs, facilitating informed decision-making.

Ads

View all of your Ad Group Ads along with respective performance metrics. Enable, Pause, or Remove any of the ads using the status column while adding new ones using the 'Add Ad' button.

When adding new ads to the ad group, choose between a Call Ad or a Responsive Search Ad. A new window will prompt you to input various elements of the ads, including path, headlines, descriptions, labels, etc.

Within the 'Ideas for your Ad' section, explore suggestions for different components of your ad. You can view recommendations from already existing best-performing ads or let Optmyzr AI generate some for you.

Optmyzr AI option is only available for Responsive Search Ads.

Additionally, you can get a live preview of the ad you are creating and compare it with the existing ones.

Assets

The Assets Tab lists all the different assets that are available to the campaign along with the number of assets used in the campaign, clicks, cost, and conversions. Click on a specific asset to view more information about it.

If the selected campaign is a -

  • Performance Max Campaign: The Asset Group tab will replace the Ad Group tab.

  • Shopping Campaign: The Assets Tab will not be present.

Express Suggestions

The Express Suggestions Tab will show you a list of the different express optimization opportunities for the account. You can click on the optimization type to see the list of suggestions, this will give you more details on why the suggestion is being generated and allow you to adjust the suggestion and select the ones you'd like to apply.

If you don't want to see certain suggestion types, you can choose to snooze them for a defined period of time (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year). Removing these suggestions will reduce the count of 'Suggestions' displayed in that specific account's column on the All Accounts Dashboard.

Any suggestions that you snooze using the side tray will also not appear in the Optmyzr Express tool subsequently.

This snoozing option will only affect what you see; it won't apply to the rest of your team. A message will be displayed to remind you that you snoozed some tasks, such as "Suggestions for some optimizations are hidden because they were snoozed."
